GRB Academy Announces Wisconsin Stingrays Softball

GRB Academy, home of the GRB Rays Baseball Program, announces the creation of the Wisconsin Stingrays, a girls softball program that will be full time in the Fall of 2024 and the Summer of 2025.  The Stingrays will offer high level softball teams and training.

The program will host tryouts for the 2024 Fall and 2025 Summer teams in the middle of July.  The program will be headed by Cathryn Hiller and Mike Bridge.

Together, Hiller and Bridge will create a lead softball program in the Madison area that will mimic many of the same outlines and mission as the GRB Rays baseball program.  The program will look to accelerate players in the game of softball with the goal to develop youth players into quality high school players and to prepare and move high school players into the college ranks.  The program will also use the most up to date fundamentals and training.

The Stingrays will call the GRB Academy its home space and training location.  GRB Academy is a 52,000 square foot indoor facility located in Windsor, Wis.  The facility has a 160 x 160 indoor field, and 14 cages.  It is one of the top indoor training spaces in the country.

All players playing for the Stingrays will be entering a program that will utilize hired coaching.  In addition, players will have full use of the facility as membership is included in team fees.  Uniforms will be included in team fees, as well as training from Total Athlete Performance, a top place for performance training in the state of Wisconsin.  The program will be immediately sponsored by Nike.

The 2024 fall teams will play tournaments and practice from August to early October.

The 2025 program will have a full winter training program that will include midweek hitting, midweek pitching, weekend winter training with the full facility being dedicated to the softball program, and outdoor practices on turf once the weather is appropriate.  Teams will be formed at 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, and 18U.
