Program Overview

The goal of the Wisconsin Stingrays Softball program is to provide players with the best coaching, facilities and opportunities available to improve their game and help advance their careers at the next level. All players playing for the Stingrays will be entering a program utilizing paid coaches with extensive experience. In addition, players will have full use of GRB Academy as membership is included in player team fees.

Winter Training

Winter Training will be the life-blood of the Stingrays Softball program. Every team within the organization participates in the Winter Training program. Winter Training is designed to advance players and instill the correct skill-sets, swing mechanics, speed, strength and motions to become highly developed softball players. Stingrays team practices are up tempo and progress from high-level individual instructions to more team-oriented instruction as the tournament season approaches.

Winter Training for the Stingrays runs from the second week in November through March.

Stingrays players will also have mid-week hitting and pitching groups that run October through February.

Coaches

The Stringrays try to limit parent involvement within the organization as much as possible. Teams will have paid head coaches and all coaches will have a minimum of collegiate playing experience and high school and/or college coaching experience.

Stingrays Program FAQs

The Stingrays staff will begin the evaluation process immediately following the tryouts. Our goal is to extend roster invitations within 24 hours, although some age groups may require more evaluation time. More roster invitations will be extended within 48 hours of the tryout. After the tryout, you will only be immediately notified if you have been invited to join the program. If you would like feedback after your tryout, you may reach out to the Stingrays staff.

10U – $3,000 ($1,000 down payment due upon acceptance, then $250 monthly payments until balance is completed)

12U – $3,000 ($1,000 down payment due upon acceptance, then $250 monthly payments until balance is completed)

14U – $3,500 ($1,000 down payment due upon acceptance, then $250 monthly payments until balance is completed)

16U – $3,500 ($1,000 down payment due upon acceptance, then $250 monthly payments until balance is completed)

18U – $3,500 ($1,000 down payment due upon acceptance, then $250 monthly payments until balance is completed)

We know this is the place to play for overall player development, so we do not give players a strict 24 hours to decide to accept a roster invitation like most programs. Take a day or two to talk it over with your family. If you do decide to play with the Stingrays, we would appreciate a confirmation within the 24-48 hour window.

We plan to have one team at each age level from the 10U to the 18U level. Although due to the high caliber of player at tryouts, we may have multiple teams at a given age level if the talent level demands it.

To ensure all players have an equal opportunity to show their skills to the Stingrays staff, we will make specific team rosters towards the end of December – early January time frame.
